The Goo Goo Dolls were formed on Memorial Day 1986. This alternative rock band from Buffalo, New York, is best known for their top-ten hit “Iris,” but they also have several multi-platinum albums to their credit. Formed by John Rzeznick, lead vocalist and guitarist, along with Robby Takac, bass guitarist and George Tutuska, drummer, the Goo Goo Dolls became a household name in American rock with their first few albums. Their indie label Metal Blade sported their first double platinum album and were asked to write motion picture scores. “Iris” was originally scored for the movie “City of Angels.” They are known for blockbuster stage performances.
Collective Soul is an American Rock band from Stockbridge, Georgia. Formed in 1992, the band combines the sounds of alternative, post-grunge and hard rock. With Ed Roland, lead vocalist, Dean Roland, rhythm guitarist, Will Turpin, bass guitarist, and Johnny Rabb, drummer, as well as Jesse Triplett, lead guitarist, the band is known for their breakout hit “Shine” which led them to Atlantic Records, where they achieved double platinum billing. They followed this success with seven number one hits, including “Breathe,” “Wasting Time,” “Gel,” and “December.”
